In other words, we do not ask them to do listening or reading exercises, but only exercises whose main target is the recognition of words. What I have experienced is that this type of students increase their self-esteem and at the same time the other students consider them as part of the class because they participate in the evaluation process. I got surprised with the other students' comments 'are they also going to sit for the exam?' with an astonished voice.

Unit 1

When we started with unit 1 in the book Cool Kids 3 from the Editorial Oxford we had to deal with vocabulary related to the house and the prepositions of place. I ask the students with the special needs to do activities related to the same topic and nearly all the vocabulary but with different exercises. Exercises like the previous ones, that is easier in level. In that way, they feel they form part of the class and are not abandoned colouring drawings and they are motivated because they are exercises that they can undertake

STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

We are still disoriented in how to deal with this type of students. The difficult task is to find a solution for them and for us. For them so as they get the best of our classes and for us so as not to turn these students in part of the furniture we have. When finding a solution we also get some disruptive students to work and hence we improve the class atmosphere. the followings are exercises prepared for students that are in third course of primary education. During the first days of classes, when the rest of the class is reviewing, we ask them to concentrate in colours and the numbers from one to ten. The types of exercises are always the same, first tracing so that they get used to the vocabulary they are going to work with. Then, forming the words by arranging the letters that appear in some paths, matching pictures and words, choosing the correct answer, labelling pictures, looking for the words in wordsearch and so on. I have to thank www.magicvocabulary.net for enabling me to create these exercises.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

After some time without publishing, I have decided to resume this task again. This time I am going to share the worksheets aimed at those pupils with special needs that should be dealing with the same topics as their classmates but with a different level of difficulty. I have done them bearing in mind a centre of interest and from here I have designed a number of activities with an increasing level of difficulty.
